Does anyone, (especially Jamaican, as I am not sure if other Caribbean Islands or other countries share this tasty treat), yes, so does anyone know the tambrind ball? its a sugary treat made from the fruit of the tambrind tree. I found out that this is a tropical tree native to africa, perhaps brough to the Caribbean via the slave but i will do more research on that. the fruit from the tree is edible and very popular especially in Jamaiaca and especiallly among younger children..(my mouth is watering ).. the fruit is somewhat sour with a little sweetnesss to it and is often mixed with sugar to form what we in Jamaica call tambrind balls.
